Thank you Alicia Dipietro and everyone that volunteered for making the Family Fun Day happen! We raised a little over $240.
Here’s what happened this week at Rowan Circle K:
Old Business:
- Donate old textbooks to Better World Book. The bin is located at the Rowan University, Barnes & Nobles campus bookstore. We’re supporting Invisible Children.
- When you donate money to Charity Water, the money goes to help developing nations get clean water and well systems. Contact Julie Mizerek for more information. Here is a link to her Charity Water campaign.
Collecting bottle caps:
- The Honors Concentration is collecting bottle caps so please bring them to the next meeting or contact Tina Koeppel. They will go to help someone who is undergoing dialysis.
Goodsearch.com:
- To donate money to Rowan University Circle K, click here.
- You can even shop online via GoodShop or buy food via GoodDining and that can also go toward Rowan Circle K.
Homework Help Program:
- Every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. (except the first Thursday of each month) you can volunteer at the Glassboro Public Library by helping students with their homework.
NStep Study Buddy:
- Tutor students in math. Contact Matthew Brady for more information.
- If you attend an event, take photos and are willing to share them, contact the Editors so she can add them to the blog. You will be given photo credit!
- We’re going to have a fundraising event at the Delsea Drive bowling alley in April. We want to involve other organizations on campus to participate. All the proceeds would go to build schools in Africa. To find out more about the Red Sweater Project, click here.
- Contact Jen Vales if you would like to help her out.
- Bring in used cards to support St. Jude’s Ranch. Kids learn entrepreneurial skills by reusing old cards and selling them. These cards go to children in the St. Jude’s Ranch and this is a great way to go green. We ask that you do not bring Hallmark or Disney trademark cards, as they as they are not accepted.
Ronald McDonald House, collection:
- Collect tabs from cans. They go to a good cause. Maybe try having a tab collection competition among resident rooms.
STUFH: (Students Team Up To Fight Hunger)
- Bring canned food to district events.
- Care2.com: Do this!
- FreeKibble.com: Answer trivia questions daily and regardless if you get the answer right or wrong, they’ll donate 10 pieces of kibble to animal shelters to feed dogs.
- FreeKibbleKat: Answer trivia questions daily and regardless if you get the answer right or wrong, they’ll donate 10 pieces of kibble to animal shelters to feed cats.
- FreePoverty.com: Watch an ad and it will pay for seven days of clean water.

- GiveVaccines.org: For each correct answer, they will donate money to the GAVI Fund to buy 0.01 milliliter (ml) of life-saving vaccine.
